Blizzard Bonafide review 2014

Best ski 2014

PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments

The Bonafide is a ski with a lot of character, and the ideal choice for athletic freeriders looking for a ski they can have fun with, which performs very well on the slopes - preferably in long-radius turns - and which is highly effective on off-piste terrains. Average-sized skiers would do well to choose a shorter model.

Review: Pros

  • Provided by the manufacturer in a model that was considerably longer than average (187cm compared to the requested length of 180cm), the Bonafide features good distribution of rigidity and performs well at high speed and in long-radius turns due to its stability and grip.
  • Its performance in freeride conditions is simply outstanding. Ski-snow contact is impressive thanks to a design which provides very good rigidity distribution, and the ski easily absorbs transitions to crud and irregular terrains. In powder, it planes in the wink of an eye (assisted by its length) and remains extremely manoeuvrable

Review: Cons

  • The ski is less responsive in short-radius turns, and tends to be sluggish when initiating turns at slow speed. But these shortcomings should be much less pronounced on a shorter model.
