Rossignol Experience 88 review 2014

PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments

Like its younger sibling, the piste ancestry of the Experience 88 is obvious as soon as you lay eyes on the ski's distinctive shape. It's hardly surprising that this is, above all, a ski for the groomers.

This ski is for intermediate to experienced skiers who want to enjoy carving the groomers but also want to get off the beaten track from time to time.

Review: Pros

  • The Experience 88 is a very pleasant and smooth ski on the pistes, and loves tight carved turns. Turn initiation is fast and intuitive. The ski hugs the curve, and displays excellent carving behaviour.

Review: Cons

  • The ski's shape and tip reduce the Experience's off-piste performance to some extent though. Turns can be disappointing and the tail tends to dig in. It's not very smooth on uneven snow.
  • On piste, the testers noted a tendency to grip and a decrease in turn quality when picking up speed, or on hard pack.
