K2 Bolt review 2014

PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments
With K2's Bolt, the focus is more on pleasure and sensation than on pure performance. But even though, on these criteria, it is far outstripped by a model like the Fisher RC4, the overall result is convincing. Several of our testers reported that they "loved" this ski for its playful character. A highly recommended ski for athletic skiers who place a premium on pleasure and sensation.
Review: Pros
- In a not-always-very-funky category, essentially geared towards effectiveness, the Bolt is best described as a "breath of fresh air" on account of its originality. It is incredibly easy to handle, playful, and a pleasure to ride. Right from the outset, it gives the impression of having a toy underfoot. The ski responds promptly to the skier's wishes, be it in initiating turns, switching from short- to long-radius turns, or in carving sliding manoeuvres. Even when the pace is stepped up, it doesn't flinch, as long as it isn't pushed to the limit.
Review: Cons
- Because of its flexible tip, at high speed, the Bolt is less at ease than other contenders in this category on hardpack snow.
