In this category, we’re looking for skis that are accessible to the weakest learners but that can help slightly more experienced riders move on to more technical turns. Here, Rossignol's Pursuit 600 fulfilled the first part of its contract but fell somewhat short in the second. True, even the weakest riders will find the ski very easy to handle. In particular, the ease of rotation and floating effect will please all those who’re still finding it hard to change direction. Skid turns are consistent and easy to steer. On the other hand, the ski is less happy when you step up the pace. Very flexible, it struggles to remain stable and retain pressure at high speed. In addition, its overdrive effect that’s very welcome at low speeds, becomes more problematic when we hit the accelerator in more dynamic turns. The Pursuit 600 is a good initiation ski for riders with a little experience (ESF class 1) to moderate speed carvers (beginning of class 3). It’s also an excellent model for riders looking for a tool that’s really easy to handle and requires very little physical engagement for cool cruising on the groomed piste.
