PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments

The Mantra from Völk gave the reviewers a wonderful surprise that they weren’t expecting in this segment. Not only does the ski match the 50% piste/50% freeride programme to perfection, but in addition, its intuitive and playful nature ("a toy!" one of the reviewers wrote) make it a whole new ball game in pleasure. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a very lively ski that’s just as happy on as off piste.

Review: Pros

  • Excellent behaviour on piste
  • Very good grip and turn behaviour
  • A lively and playful ski with intuitive turn behaviour
  • Especially good in short turns
  • Very good behaviour overall in freeride
  • Excellent floatation in powder

Review: Cons

  • The ski is a tad less happy in very long turns at high speed on piste

Manufacturer's remarks

Is it still possible to improve one of the best All Mountain freeride skis in the world? The answer is a resounding yes! And not just with small changes, but with a whole new construction. The Mantra now has a new shape, with a Full Rocker design, moderated directional Taper, and slightly more marked width than its predecessor. Only the titan construction is still the same for maximum transmission power. The result is a Mantra that’s even more versatile with very broad spectrum utilisation, more direct and precise on-piste performance, and even more playful and well-adapted performance off-piste.
