Dynastar Speed Zone 7 review 2018

PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments

In this category, we’re looking for accessible skis for weaker riders who have the capacity to progress technically to carving. While it’s not directly aimed at beginners, riders from the beginning of ESF’s class 2 will love the Speedzone 7 from Dynastar, in other words, riders who already master skid turns. Versatile, accessible, docile and responsive to every request, it’s truly awesome. Turn initiation is intuitive and skid turns are consistent, making it a very reassuring ski. But what really impressed the reviewers was its capacity to up the stakes, helping the rider make technical progress. The transition from skid turns to side slips then carving seems totally natural, especially on moderate slopes. You just need to get the right positioning and lean into the turn to see the skis begin to gently carve. When you step up the pace, even on hard pack, the ski remains incredibly reassuring and efficient for this category. We strongly recommend this ski for all riders who've mastered skid turns and want to progress to higher speeds and carving.

Manufacturer's remarks

With its race technology and packed snow performance design, the brand new SPEED ZONE 7 delivers a new level of comfort, power and precision with a highly versatile shape aimed at intermediary riders. The ski features the innovative POWERDRIVE INSIDE active suspension principle, which acts like the sleek body of a sports car. It cushions variations in the terrain, eliminates instability by planting the ski firmly to the snow for smooth ski-snow contact before unleashing thrilling, powerful and dynamic acceleration, at the same time providing great bite and control. The ski tip rocker enhances entry while retaining the ski’s dynamism and power. Energy, rebound and impulsion make this a high-performing and fun-to-use tool.
