PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments

The Bonafide performed less well this year, possibly because of the snow conditions that need a stiffer ski.
However, it remains a benchmark in the intermediary all mountain ski market and is renowned for its user friendliness and smooth performance that’s well above average.
It’s an excellent model for average to good skiers looking for an efficient ski that’s consistent both on and off piste.

Review: Pros

  • Exceptionally user-friendly
  • A very consistent and reassuring ski at intermediate speeds
  • Versatile both on and off piste

Review: Cons

  • Performance is less impressive than the Mantra or the Stormrider 95 at high speed, with somewhat disappointing push-off, grip and stability.
  • NB ProSkiLab™: the 2016 all mountain 30/70 ski review conditions (despite the date being pushed back several times) were exceptionally bad: e.g. transformed snow, crusting off-piste, hard pack on the piste. In these conditions, more rigid skis with better grip and better skimming power in uneven snow conditions tend to do better

Manufacturer's remarks

New: the Bonafide retains the same wood/titanal construction in addition now has carbon tips.
The combination of FlipCore and ICC technologies gave rise to the Carbon FlipCore technology.
The exclusive characteristics of this 50/50 freeride ski guarantee better floatation and improved control.
The ski is also more stable but hasn’t lost any of its stability or grip. The tip and tail are designed in lighter materials, reinforced by the multidirectional carbon fibre.
The Titanal structure offers better performance and excellent stability and edging, while the FlipCore technology makes it incredibly easy and fun to use on every terrain
The result is a ski with:
• less inertia at the extremities
• reduced vibration
• greater precision on entering turns
