Stöckli Scale Gamma review 2016

PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments

A very versatile ski with consistent and reassuring behaviour, the Scale Gamma unfortunately lacks enough character to feature among the leaders.
However, it’s a good ski that will please riders looking for a model with disciplined, efficient and predictable behaviour, able to adapt to all snow conditions and terrains (on the piste). Adrenalin fans will prefer a livelier model like the Speed Course from Dynastar.

Review: Pros

  • An easy and docile ski
  • Stability in long turns
  • Comfortable on all types of terrains and in all snow conditions
  • Good performance in skid turns and carving
  • A comfortable ski glides incredibly smoothly over the terrain, especially at ease on uneven snow.

Review: Cons

  • Excellent behaviour when the ski is centred: the front of the ski loses hold with too much forward pressure while too much back pressure tends to ‘anchor’ the tail.
  • Lack liveliness and punch
  • Performance somewhat disappointing

Manufacturer's remarks

A model that can do everything! The wide tip guarantees good flotation in high snow, whilst the progressive geometry will have everyone enthusing about Scale Gamma’s sports potential on the groomers.
