K2 Hardside Adventure review 2013

PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments

The Hardside Adventure is a very good 30% piste/70% off-piste ski that will be snapped up by freeriders who want a ski to enjoy the powder or the corridors and that still manages to cruise the groomers.

Review: Pros

  • The K2 Hardside performs extremely well off-piste, especially in powder (float/manoevrability). Although we didn't test it in these conditions, the great edge control no doubt make it a very good ski for corridors and hard pack.

Review: Cons

  • The stiff tail, which gives it better grip for this category, makes it uncomfortable in uneven snow.
  • On the groomers, the ski's performance is limited at high speeds, making it appear somewhat passive and lacklustre.

Manufacturer's remarks

The cold hard reality is, most of us ski more crud than blower pow. If this holds true for you, the HardSide is your ideal ski. It delivers smooth precision and confidence on rock hard boilerplate, and its All-Terrain Rocker and moderate waist won’t leave you wanting when Mother Nature lays it in thick.
