Dynastar Speed Cross Ti review 2013

PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments

The Speed Cross is no doubt an excellent Skicross ski, but it is too demanding to be well placed in the Advanced category. It's nonetheless a perfect ski for skicross enthusiasts and for those looking to carve out wide radius turns at high speed.

Review: Pros

  • As its name suggests, this ski has Skicross genes and Slalom ski qualities. With its very rigid heel, it is extremely grippy and performs well in large radius turns at high speeds.

Review: Cons

  • The Speed Cross Ti is a technically and physically demanding ski. It's hard to deform and is less at ease at low and medium speeds. Its hard heel limits performance in skid turns.

Manufacturer's remarks

The award-winning Speed Course Ti is a race inspired, high-performance ski with a powerful GS feel for technical frontside experts. World Cup sandwich construction, titanal laminates and full-length vertical sidewalls deliver optimum precision, balance, stability and edge grip. A deeper sidecut and more forgiving flex allows rounder, more versatile turn shapes. The Speed Course Ti delivers exhilarating, hard-snow performance for carving fast, powerful turns on hardpack and groomers. 90% On-Trail / 10% Off-Trail RB: PX Racing 12 or 14
